We are finally living on-board and are beginning to feel at home. It's been a couple of backbreaking days, but we've done it. Although this boat is larger than the last, there isn't as much storage space. Having more living area equals lack of hidden storage. As a result, our third berth has become our on-board storage unit. It houses things like warmer clothes for traveling north, office stuff (printer, paper, books, etc), things we'll need in Maine, and a vacuum cleaner (yes, we need to vacuum occasionally).
This is our living area - starboard side. All the comforts of home except the TV which hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully it will be installed on Monday or Tuesday. The guys here at St. Bart's Yachts have done an incredible job of commissioning EXILE and will install the TV for us when it arrives. The professionalism and kindness they have shown us has made the past few weeks very enjoyable. We're happy to have gotten to know them as well as we have. We will definitely stop back in on our way south in the fall to see them again.
See the bare wall on the right? That's the intended TV spot. The dining table is pretty neat. In this photo it is half it's full size. If needed, it will pivot and open to seat several more people. We prefer to keep it in the smaller position most of the time. It will also lower to the height of a coffee table. We haven't tried that yet... Not enough hours in the day!
This is another view of the living area, and a sneak peek into the forward berth where we sleep. The neat thing about those two seats on the port side is that they slide so the table (nav station) can be on either side or in the middle. Neat place to play 2 handed cribbage or Yahtzee when the table is in the middle!

Remember I said we had a "storage unit" on-board? Well - the starboard aft berth is it. I reluctantly post this picture, but in reality, it's actually quite organized...
The aft berth on the port side is a little more indicative of what the starboard side should look like.
We love our V-berth. It has a great head (bathroom) complete with a vacuflush toilet and a great shower. There's a second head aft with the same features.
The galley is great! Double sinks, 3 burner stove, microwave hidden behind one of the cabinets, deep freezer and a refrigerator. What more could one want? Oh - a view of the water? Right out the port... And there's that wine rack I told you about earlier...
That about wraps it up. We're all ready to set sail, perhaps Thursday - first a few last minute details. The TV installation, the car to Hilton Head for storage at our dear friends place and a run to the airport to pick up Jeff on Wednesday afternoon in the rental car. He had to run off on business today.....
